The Whitley County Chamber of Commerce & Visitor’s Center Ambassadors recently selected the City of Columbia City as the January 2017 Chamber Member of the Month.
The honor was presented at a ceremony in January, recognizing the many ways the city serves the community.
The City of Columbia City employs 85 area residents and serves an estimated 4,800 customers each year with a $33 million budget. Some of the many services provided to city and local residents include: police protection, fire protection, dispatch services, street repairs, curbs and sidewalks, limb and leaf pickup, parking, street lighting, Christmas decorations, snow removal, river greenway and trails, housing authority programs, redevelopment programs, animal control, fireworks, cemetery maintenance and mowing, sewer works, water works, electric works, stormwater works, drainage fee coverage, planning and zoning, economic development and more.
