COLUMBIA CITY – Columbia City’s boys track team beat Norwell and DeKalb in a three-way meet last week.

The Eagles were led by Heath Atkins who won the 100-meter, 200-meter and long jump. Doug Hill came in second behind Atkins in the 100 dash.

Tim Herald took first place in the 400-meter dash for Columbia City, and also placed second in the 200 and fourth in high jump. Noah Judd placed third in the 400 behind Hearld. Judd also took third in the long jump.

Freshman Bryce Taylor won the 800-meter run and Landon Wakeman, another freshman, took first place in the 1,600-meter run.

Jacob Matteson came in second in the 800, and Nicholas Mills took third in the 1,600-meter run. Mills also placed fourth in the 3,200-meter run behind Wakeman in second.

Jacob Wigent took second in the 300-meter hurdles and third in the 100-meter hurdles.

Columbia City won the 400-meter, 1,600-meter and 3,200-meter relays.

Matt Kennedy won the pole vault for the Eagles and teammate Jon O’Dell took third.

Alex Scharpenberg came in second in high jump. David Osborn placed second in shot put and Liam Hesting took third. Hesting placed second in discus.
