CHURUBUSCO — New Era’s show choir pulled a rare doubleheader late last week. The group attended two competitions on the same day — at both the Garrett and East Noble competitions.

New Era started the day by performing a preliminary performance at Garrett, then traveled to East Noble to perform in the preliminaries at that location.

New Era performed first in the finals at East Noble, then traveled back to Garrett, where they performed in the last finals show at 11:15 p.m.

While at Garrett, New Era members received the news that they were named Grand Champions at East Noble, also capturing Best Choreography and tied for Best Vocals. At Garrett, New Era was thrilled to be named second runner-up overall and first runner-up in the small mixed group.

On Feb. 17, New Era competed at the Northridge Choral Festival, earning first runner-up in the small mixed division. New Era was also awarded Best Crew. Other schools competing in the small mixed division included Fairfield, Bishop Luers, Garrett, New Prairie, East Noble and Lakeland.
