LAOTTO — Georgia C. Schenher, 76, of LaOtto, passed away at 3:10 p.m. on Monday, March 5, 2018, at her home surrounded by her family.

Born on August 6, 1941, in Kokomo, she was a daughter of Wayne and Naomi (Phillips) Byrd. She spent her formative years in Churubusco and graduated from Churubusco High School in 1959.

Georgia was married on April 10, 1959, to James Schenher at Ege Immaculate Conception Church.

She was a member of the Ege Immaculate Conception Church. She was a past member of the Rosary Society.

She loved sports especially Notre Dame football, IU basketball and Cubs baseball.

Georgia is survived by her husband, James Schenher of LaOtto; four children, Kevin Schenher of LaOtto, Leesa (Ron) Sparkman of Ege, Darin (Kim) Schenher of Elwood and Jimmy (Rachel) Schenher of Avilla; a brother, Bradley Byrd of Columbia City; five grandsons; five great-grandsons; and six great-granddaughters.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and her identical twin sister, Torchia Fry.

Mass of Christian burial was Monday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Ege.

Burial was in Ege Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers please make memorials to Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana.
