COLUMBIA CITY — Columbia City’s street department will begin leaf pickup on Oct. 22. The crews will be following the same routes as last year.
Pickup is street-side only — equipment will not fit in the alleyways.
There will be one pass only per week for seven weeks. The Street Department asks that residents have leaves ready before the Monday of each week. Rake leaves up to the curb, not into the street, as leaves cause many problems in bad weather, plugging up storm sewers.
Do not put limbs in the leaf piles, limb pickup is done for the year. The city also asks that residents try not to park in front of leaf piles. Leaves will not be raked from behind parked cares due to time restraints so crews can get through the city each week.
