WARSAW — Lauren Liston is headed to the state finals and Columbia City’s girls swim team placed third overall at the Warsaw Sectional on Saturday.

Liston placed first in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:03.03. Liston also finished sixth in the 500-yard freestyle.

Mykaela Crowell placed second in three events: The 200-yard individual medley, followed by Morgan Poling in 14th; and placed second in the 100-yard breaststroke, followed by Shauna Young in 12th.

The 200-yard medley relay team of Sophia Hatcher, Young, Crowell and Shaylynn Trump finished third.

Carolin Klimek finished fourth in the 50-yard freestyle and Trump took 13th. Climes also took seventh in the 100-yard freestyle and Sophia Hatcher placed 15th.

The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Evin Devito, Trump, Ashleigh Hoskins and Klimek took fourth.

Young placed 10th in the 100-yard butterfly, Hoskins finished 13th and Poling took 14th.

Devito took third in the 500-yard freestyle and placed ninth in the 200-yard freestyle and teammate Ayn Margaret Schaekel took 14th.

Hatcher finished eighth in the 100-yard backstroke and Schaekel took 14th.

The team’s 400-yard freestyle relay team of Hatcher, Hoskins, Liston and Klimek took fifth.
