GARRETT — Churubusco High School’s New Era Show Choir competed at the Garrett Railroader Rush Invitational on Saturday and was named second runner-up overall and won the Best Choreography caption award.

Kenzie Pittenger was selected as Churubusco’s Outstanding Performer. Other choirs in the competition included Huntington North, Fairfield, Teays Valley, Northridge, Bishop Luers, Columbia City, Bishop Dwenger, Kenton, Bellmont, DeKalb and East Noble.

New Era will compete this Saturday at Carroll High School.

In the women’s tier II division, Columbia City’s City Lights won first place with caption awards for vocals, band and crew. City Heat placed third runner-up in its division.
