SOUTH WHITLEY — Shindigz recently announced plans to expand its operations in South Whitley by adding new manufacturing equipment and additional jobs.

Shindigz is one of the largest party-supply companies in America. Founded in 1926, Shindigz is one of the country’s leading online and catalog retailers of personalized party supplies, decorations and favors. Offering more than 34,000 products, Shindigz provides anything from banners, balloons, party favors and gifts, costumes and more.

“Shindigz is on a growth path and we are continuing to invest in South Whitley and our team as we grow,” said Dan Haight, CEO of Shindigz. “We’re adding new equipment now and we have plans for more investments this year. These investments strengthen our commitment to Northeast Indiana, which has been strong for more than 90 years.”

The company’s manufacturing and order fulfillment operation is located at 111 E. Broad St. in South Whitley, and currently employs 145 people. The company plans to have the new equipment up and running by early March, and will add three additional seasonal jobs.

The company has created much excitement across the region in the last year, announcing the expansion of its headquarters in neighboring Fort Wayne, and continuing to grow its current operations in South Whitley.

“Like so many of our local companies who compete in the global marketplace, Shindigz continues to modernize its equipment and seek new talent so it can continue to grow,” said Jon Myers, president of the Whitley County Economic Development Corporation. “We are pleased that Shindigz is continuing to expand its operations in Northeast Indiana.”

The South Whitley Town Council approved a five-year tax abatement for the project last week, at the request of Shindigz and the Whitley County EDC.

“On behalf of the town of South Whitley, we are pleased to support Shindigz as a company that continues to invest in our community and region. We appreciate the company’s involvement in the community, and their support for local residents,” said South Whitley Town Councilman Les Hoffman.
