COLUMBIA CITY — “Weathering the Storm in Agriculture: How to Cultivate a Productive Mindset” will be presented as a Lunch ’n Learn on Thursday, March 21, 11a.m.–1p.m., at the Whitley County Extension Office, 115 S. Line St., Columbia City.

This program will help farm families gain a better understanding of the signs and symptoms of chronic stress and cultivate a more productive mindset.

Farming has been tough in recent years and that has an impact on farmers and their families. Under stress, people sometimes think they are alone in their challenges, but that is not the case. Two speakers will discuss the present agricultural market situation with an overview of how this has affected a farm’s financial situation and cash flow. The second topic will discuss the detrimental impact of stress on our body and state of mind, providing information on how to recognize some of the warning signs of depression, self-harm and mental illness.

Lunch and registration is provided by Purdue Extension Women in Agriculture. After March 14, the fee is $5.

Call or email your reservation by March 14 to (260) 244-7615; or John Woodmansee, Extension educator,; or Cindy Barnett, Extension educator,
