COLUMBIA CITY — Whitley County Consolidated Schools was selected as one of nine recipients of the state’s High Ability Grant.

The district will receive $64,000 to provide professional development at the middle and high school levels, so the schools can continue to provide rigor and quality education for those students.

Out of 96 grant applications, only nine were selected, including WCCS’s, which was written by Assistant Superintendent Laura McDermott.

“We are very, very pleased,” Superintendent Patricia O’Connor said. “Well done.”
